This historic building, home and clinic of the first doctor on Bainbridge Island is now the
offices of the Sherrard McGonagle law firm. The original structure was located far back on the
property, almost invisible from the street. Restoration of the building in that location for
contemporary use would have required parking in front of the building. The key to the
economic viability of this restoration and adaptive re-use project was our recommendation to
relocate the 1920's building to the street edge of the property with parking located to the side
and rear. Our plan preserved this historic building and site and will afford the client a
significant profit when the remaining land is developed to full potential.
